Once Upon a Time…

A girl lived in the big city. And she met a guy with the most amazing dimples and they fell in love. And the girl decided that she was going to marry Mr. Dimples. (Seriously, she did, like within the first 2 months of dating). And then she got what she wanted. And now they live happily ever after.

Me and the husband when we were just babies (aka about 3 years ago)

I loved living in NYC. I loved the noise, I loved the hustle and bustle, I loved how the city always felt alive and I loved exploring the city with that guy pictured above.

Although I spent most of my first year in NYC working as a glorified nanny slave, Brett and I found a lot of time to hang out and I miss it…walking around Central Park and finding secret magic gardens, eating at our 2 favorite places (Fred’s and Broadway Pizza-the second one being mostly like a hole-in-the-wall, but still, best pizza in Manhattan hands down), dragging Brett to the Public Library….so fun.

I’m feeling sentimental right now. I miss the city of our beginning, I miss the energy and the excitement and the possibilities. Although Brett and I have moved on to bigger and better things, NYC will always hold a special place in our hearts!

Next week Brett and I are heading up to good ol’ Long Island for his brother’s wedding and we are psyched. Okay, so it’s not exactly IN the city where we fell deeply and madly in love (just like a movie, of course), but it’s close. And it’s family, so really, what could be better?

New York…here we come.
