A Las Olas Saturday

So Brett and I are pretty much homebodies. We like to share each other’s company at home, just hanging out. And we’re happy that way. Really. But…some times we forget that we live in a gorgeous state where there is so much to do outside of our cute little apartment. And then a friend at work tells me about all of the fun things she is planning to do with her boyfriend over the weekend and I think to myself, “ohhh man she lives an exciting life!” Until I remind myself that I’m totally capable of doing the same things. So I came home from work on Friday and declared to the husband, “We are doing something fun this weekend!” And although our fun might be low key and touristy, fun we had.

I’ve been wanting to check out a little section of Ft. Lauderdale-Las Olas-since we moved to Florida. It’s full of cute little shops, fun restaurants, and amazing houses so today Brett and I drove up for a lunch date.

My mozzarella and basil on fresh baguette. So good!

Dessert? Obviously. Crepe with bananas, strawberries, ice cream and chocolate sauce

Obviously it was disgusting...

After lunch Brett and I walked around town a little, dreaming of our future house. You know, after we win the lottery and have millions to spend. Some pictures from our walk:

Oh yeah...just docking my huge yacht outside of my huge mansion.

These people don't know it yet, but they're about to become me and Brett's new bff's. And then when they sail Savannah Ann to the Bahamas they will be taking us with them.

Beautiful Spanish style homes.

Hellooooo hotness.

Oh hey, do you want to sell us your house? Or at least become our best friends so we can come over all the time?

On our way home we decided to stop by Outdoor World, because it always looks so cool when I see it from the highway and it’s so big and, I mean, who wouldn’t want to stop by a world of outdoors? The world did not disappoint. This place is sweet, with it’s huge aquarium in the middle of the store and the plethora of hunting gear, that somehow, makes you want to buy random objects even though you know you will never use them. Brett and I thought it would be fun to pick out our new yacht for when we win our millions and buy a house on the water, but sadly they did not have any good yachts–just fishing boats, which are obviously wayyy too simple for our extravagant tastes.

I was eaten before we even got inside

And then I found this little gem- a camo leaf outfit- and it was calling my name. It didn’t matter that it was a size 2XL, I suddenly needed it.

Can you see me? Of course not, I'm basically invisible.

Looks good, we'll take it

I know, I know, you’re in awe of the exciting lives we live. It’s okay, not everyone can be this crazy. To top off this weekend we started our Sunday with watching church in bed (we both woke up feeling gross) until the video froze and we couldn’t watch anymore. (Sorry Pastor Bob). Later we will be taking a walk to Yogurt Land and I will be bringing along my bag of cat treats so I can feed strays along the way. Awesome, I know.

Where can I get me one of those Camo Suits?? I wanna go play paint ball in that… I’d win for sure!!

And I could see you both in those mansions… Invite me to your first yacht party! I will be there for sure!

Looks like you two are having fun. 🙂 I miss seeing your smiling faces in person, but I’m really happy you have this blog, so whenever I am going through Christina and Brett withdrawals, I can find out what you have been up to. 🙂 Florida looks amazing. I want to come visit someday.
