37 weeks

Welcome to full term baby!!!

Total weight gain: 31 lbs
Baby’s heart beat:
161 bpm at today’s appointment
Baby is now the size of: A winter melon. She is closing in on 7 lbs and is around 19 inches long.
Biggest craving this week: Lots and lots of lemonade and ice cream.
How I’m Feeling: Uncomfortable times 10. My pelvis feels so bruised, walking around a lot is becoming more and more painful. I love feeling her move, but now her jabs are so crazy strong I feel like I spend more time begging her to stay still! I’m also not sure if I’ve hit the “nesting stage” yet. I haven’t had any random spurts of energy, although today I did feel the strong need to go buy a new mop at Target so we could wash our floors, so maybe that’s the start of it!
How clothes fit: The same as always. Although today, while I was at Target buying my new mop, I picked up 2 super cute nursing tanks for my hospital stay. At least now I’ll feel somewhat cute after birth!
Movement: I think baby is confused as to which way she is supposed to come out. Right under my rib cage is bruised because baby will kick and kick and stick her little feet out my stomach. I seriously think she’s trying to kick her way out the top. I keep telling her she needs to go the other way, but she doesn’t seem to be listening.
Random: Today at my doctor’s appointment I was checked to see how (or if) everything was progressing. My body is sloooowwllly getting ready for birth, but baby seems quite content on staying in the womb as long as possible. Part of me is so ready to go into labor and give birth, but another part of me understands that every day she stays in there she is getting healthier and stronger and chunkier and I want her to take all the time she needs for that. But let’s just say that she has until August 18th to come out before I start taking drastic measures.
Looking forward to: Birth! It is coming up so incredibly soon.

You look so good!! You’re all belly. And keep the baby in there until she is ready. It will totally stink if you go past your due date (I’ve been there)- but your baby will be better because of it! Alert and sleeping well- trust me : ) But here’s wishing you go by your due date!! – Lizzy

Thanks Lizzy! And yes, as much as I’m ready to give birth, I know that it is healthiest for baby to go full term, so I really do hope she stays in there until 40 weeks, I would just rather not go later than that!! Your little guy is so adorable, I’m sure it is all worth it in the end! 🙂
