2 weeks

I cannot believe that 2 weeks have already gone by. Time is flying!! We have been so busy with family visiting, it’s going to feel weird once everyone is gone and it’s just me and Miss Leah home alone during the days. Leah has changed so much over the past 2 weeks. She is up and alert a lot more and she’s starting to make eye contact and really look at us when we talk to her. Today she had her 2 week check-up and Leah impressed her doctor with her long legs and hefty weight gain. She was 7 lbs 7 oz at birth, came home from the hospital at 7 lbs 2 oz and two weeks later she weighed in at 8 lbs 11 oz. Way to go chunka chunk! She is currently in the 9oth percentile for both weight and height. You go girl, being all tall and chubby. Her newborn sleepers are already getting a tad bit too short and when we put her in newborn pants it’s hilarious as she suddenly sports some high waters. She’s got some long, long legs.

Sleep wise she’s doing pretty well. She USUALLY sleeps for about 4 hours without waking up to eat. Sometimes we luck out and it’s a little longer, sometimes it’s shorter. The issue is not getting up to eat, but the fact that she doesn’t always want to go back to sleep right away. Sometimes she just wants to be up, cuddling and hanging out with mommy. Which is nice and all if it’s 8 am, not 3 am. I’ll tell you what, I now REALLY get it when everyone was telling me to “sleep as much as I can!” when I was pregnant.

Tomorrow we are taking Leah chubs and heading up to our island for the weekend. Leah is beyond thrilled and I know she’s going to quickly learn to love the island as much as her mommy and daddy do. Get ready for the ocean breeze baby girl!
