1 month

Dear Leah Grace,
Yesterday you turned 1 month old. Seriously, where has the time gone!? The past 4 weeks have been one wonderful, sleep deprived, love filled month. You bring so much joy to me and daddy’s life and since bringing you home from the hospital we have fallen more and more in love with you. I cannot get over how much you have changed in only 1 short month. Where has my tiny newborn gone!? Every day you are looking and acting less and less like a newborn and more and more like a baby. I am excited for you to grow, but I sure am going to miss my little wrinkly noodle. You are such a joy to be with every day and I feel so blessed to have this time at home with you, just you and me kid! Some of your accomplishments from this month have included: Sleeping anywhere from a 4-8 hour stretch at night. Ok, so the 8 hour stretch only happened once, but it was an amazing treat. Daddy and I really loved it and would accept anymore nights like that you would like to give us, Ok?? But on a normal night you sleep between 5-7 hours at a time, which is still super, so keep it up. You also smiled for the first time last week! I spent days trying to get you to smile at me and yet the first time you ever smiled was at yourself. You caught your reflection in the mirror while mommy was changing your diaper and you gave that reflection baby one huge open mouth grin. Not that I blame you, it was one adorable looking baby. Now you reserve all of your best smiles for daddy. One month old and you are already a total daddy’s girl and I love you for that because he is one cute guy. And I get all your best snuggles during feeding, so we’ll give him the smiles. You also love sticking out your tongue and making some of the cutest and funniest faces in the world. Daddy and I love catching those faces in pictures. We promise not to show them to too many of your future boyfriends. All in all, you are one special baby. I know you have to grow up, but let’s try to slow it down a little. Momma needs time to soak up all your newborn goodness before you get too big.
Love, mommy and daddy
