Dear Leah Grace,
Happy 4 months, baby girl. I know I say this every month, but man oh man, how the time is flying by! I can’t believe how big you are getting. I feel like just yesterday I was lying in the hospital, holding you for the first time, and then I blinked my eyes and suddenly I had a big, smiley chub.
You are such a happy baby. Just look at those smiley pictures. It is not hard at all to get a big grin out of you. All daddy has to do is look at you and you start smiling and cooing away. Your smiles match your sunny personality. You are such a sweet girl and I am so excited to see your personality continue to emerge as you get older.
You had your 4 month doctor’s appointment this week. You are currently 26 and 3/4 inches long and you weigh 16 lbs. This puts you in the 90th percentile for both height and weight. Everyone comments on what a big girl you are, how you look older than 4 months and daddy and I constantly joke that you are just so advanced for your age. You had to have 4 more shots at this appointment and it broke mommy’s heart to hear you cry. I kissed away all your tears and held you tight. You recovered quickly once the nurse was done and even gave her a sweet, watery smile to let her know that you didn’t hold a grudge. What a sweetheart.
We traveled again this month, flying up to NY to visit Grandma and Grandpa Becker for Christmas. You were an angel on the flight there, sleeping the entire way. On the way home you showed your frustration for about 20 minutes before falling asleep on mommy and napping the rest of the way home. You LOVED getting held and snuggled by all your aunts and uncles and grandparents, although you hated having to wear a thick winter jacket. You are definitely our Florida baby, happiest in only a diaper!
You are eating and sleeping like a champ. After months of fighting with you to take a bottle, you surprised us all with showing your preference to drink out of a sippy cup. Such a crazy, advanced baby. 🙂 You are sleeping through the night, usually going to bed at 9:30 pm and waking up around 7 am. On New Years Day you were so sleepy and worn out from your 4 month shots that you slept in and mommy had to wake you up at 8:30 am! You are trying your hardest to sit up on your own and I know you are going to get there soon.
Daddy and I are head over heels in love with you, sweet girl. Every time you smile at us our hearts melt a little more. I’m excited to see what this month brings, since every day with you only brings more and more happiness.
We love you!
Mommy and Daddy
